Standard Oil Company was the oil producing and marketing company. It was established in 1870 by John D. Rockefeller - truly the biggest business magnate and businessman. The fate of the company was quite dull, though. In 1911, Supreme Court ruled out that the magnate was illegal, and Standard Oil was shut down.
