solve :
1/2(x + 32) = -10....multiply both sides by 2
x + 32 = -10 * 2
x + 32 = -20
x = -20 - 32
x = - 52 <===

check :
1/2(x + 32) = -10.....when x = -52
1/2(-52 + 32) = -10
1/2(-20) = -10
-20/2 = -10
-10 = -10 (correct)
