y > 3x - 4

x = 8
y = 3

3 > 3(8) - 4
3 > 24 - 4
3 > 20 (false)

No (8,3) is not a solution for y > 3x - 4

In (8, 3), x=8 and y=3.

3>3(8)-4, 24=4=10

3>20.


Obviously, 3 is NOT greater than 20, and therefore is the point is NOT a solution.
