Given

[tex]\frac{4}{4}*\frac{x}{1}+\frac{1}{4}[/tex]

Simplify as shown below,

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{4}{4}*\frac{x}{1}+\frac{1}{4}=\frac{4*x}{4*1}+\frac{1}{4} \\ =\frac{4x}{4}+\frac{1}{4} \\ =\frac{4}{4}*x+\frac{1}{4} \\ =1*x+\frac{1}{4} \\ =x+\frac{1}{4} \end{gathered}[/tex]

If the initial equation is correct, the last equality in the question tab is incorrect. The simplification is x+1/4, not 4x+1/4.
