The Janitor used 8/15 of the bottle

How to calculate the amount of the solution of the bottle used ?

The Janitor has 3/5 of a spray bottle solution

He uses 1/9 of the solution in a day

The amount of solution used can be calculated as follows

3/5 × 1/9

= 3/45

= 1/15

The initial amount  in the bottle is

3/5 - 1/15

= 8/15

Hence the amount of solution he has used is 8/15
