So as the statement said, the sporting goods store pays $170 so it means that it is equal to 100%, now since it is gonna sell the item with 45% markup, it means that it will be added to the 100% so you'll get 145% of $170. After multiply $170 by 145% to get the answer $246.50. The sporting goods store will sell the rubber raft at $246.50.
