Let g(x) = ax²

We have the point (3, 1).

Substitute x = 3 and g(x) = 1:

1 = a(3²)

9a = 1    |divide both sides by 9

a = 1/9

Therefore your answer is

[tex]g(x)=\dfrac{1}{9}x^2=\left(\dfrac{1}{3}x\right)^2[/tex]
